The son of Lori Emmer Cain and grandson of Phil Emmer, Ryan McGriff is the third generation to run Emmer Group. Ryan was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, and has lived in Gainesville his whole life. He attended Gainesville High School, and then the University of Florida, where he played football.

Just a year after graduating from UF in 2015, Ryan started working for Emmer, where he started off as a laborer. He worked as a laborer from 2016-2017, then an assistant superintendent from 2017-2019, up to superintendent from 2019-2022, and then became president of Emmer Group in early 2022. Along with being president of the company, Ryan is also on the Board of Directors for BANCF. The oldest of three boys, Ryan helps to carry on the strong legacy of the Emmer family.
